Naval Special Warfare

The NSW community is the world’s premier fighting force. Made up of SEALs, Special Warfare Combat Crewmen (SWCCs), and critical support personnel, they operate with unmatched precision and stealth beyond the reach of conventional units. Their mission set includes strategic reconnaissance, direct action, hostage rescue, and high-speed maritime operations in denied and contested environments. With roots tracing back to World War II, NSW has always been the true tip of the spear.

Together, this elite community has executed some of the highest-risk, no-fail operations in modern history. While a few missions have captured public attention, the vast majority remain classified. Whether on land or at sea, NSW operates in silence, delivering impact through actions the world will never see. They maintain a constant global presence and stand ready to respond wherever and whenever they are needed. They are on the front line right now and always.

Who We Are

Founded in 2000, the NSF is a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit that supports active duty and veteran members of the NSW community and their families. We stand at the forefront of crucial care for them through more than thirty comprehensive programs organized under five pillars—Strength, Resilience, Health, Education, and Community. We are here to keep our warriors in the fight. We are here to assist them in transitioning to the civilian sector. We are here to help their families every step of the way. And under the tragic circumstances of a service member not returning home, we are here as well.

How We Measure Up

Like the community we serve, the NSF is a high-performing organization committed to excellence. Charity Navigator has awarded us a 4-star rating since 2009 and a perfect score since 2014 for financial health, accountability, and transparency. We rank higher than 99.9% of charities nationwide. Less than 100 charities can make this claim annually. Ninety-four cents of every dollar donated directly funds our programs or is retained for future mission use.
