What is a SEAL? He is a common man with uncommon desire to succeed. A SEAL’s unflinching commitment to accomplish his mission is something that cannot be taught. Beyond his rigorous physical training, mental discipline and technological resources, it is his extraordinary, innate force of will that ensures a SEAL’s place amongst the pinnacle of elite warriors.
Consistent with its purpose, the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) community operates with deliberate stealth beyond the reach of conventional forces. Small in numbers, yet powerful in performance, these hardened warriors are adept at conducting strategic reconnaissance and gathering actionable intelligence in hostile environments. In rare instances—a hostage rescue or a direct action operation involving a high-value target—the public may learn about some missions. However, the courageous members of the NSW community never seek acclaim for their work nor do they acknowledge it.
